About

Andrew Schroeder has spent his career at the intersection of photographic practice and preservation. As Lab Manager for the Photography Area at the University of New Mexico, he worked daily with the full range of digitization equipment — Imacon, Howtek, Nikon, and Epson scanners — training faculty and students on archival workflows and advising on equipment decisions for film-based digitization projects.

Eigengrau Photo is the extension of that work into a dedicated studio context. The focus is narrow by design: drum scanning and archival digitization for photographers, estates, and institutions who need results that hold up — for exhibitions, publications, and the long term.

He holds an MFA in Photography and Printmaking from the University of Minnesota and a BFA in Studio Art from the University of Nebraska. He is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
