Consultation

Not sure what your archive needs? Start here.

Digitization decisions made early in a project are difficult to undo later. Resolution, file format, color management, naming conventions, storage — each choice has downstream consequences for how the work can be used, shared, and preserved. A short conversation at the outset can prevent significant problems down the line.

We offer project consultations for photographers, estates, and institutions trying to understand what they have, what it needs, and what to realistically expect from the digitization process.

What A Consultation Covers

Assessment of your materials — formats, condition, volume, storage situation. Discussion of your goals — exhibition, publication, preservation, estate planning. Honest guidance on what drum scanning can and can’t do for your specific project. A recommended workflow and realistic scope before any commitment is made.

How It Works

Consultations are conducted by email, phone, or in person at the studio in Santa Fe by appointment. For larger or more complex projects, an initial in-person assessment of physical materials may be recommended.

There is no charge for an initial conversation. If a larger consulting engagement is warranted, that will be discussed and agreed upon before any work begins.
